Missing Maui

At the beginning of August, we went on a family vacation to Maui. It was such a fantastic trip filled with snorkeling, zip-lining, hiking, swimming in tide-pools, great food, perfect weather and tons of good family time. We spent the first three nights in Kaanapali, and the following seven in Kahana. I'm already looking forward to the next time I can go back. It was amazing.

The trip could have never happened were it not for the extreme generosity of my mom and dad. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

4 of these photos were stolen from my brother's camera. Thanks, Ryan.

Me and Mr. Jones

Tom and I were made uncle and aunt for the first time by the birth of little Jones Rickeman. We got to spend a few days with him (and his fantastic parents) last week in Maryland, and I can't stop thinking about him. He is so wee and handsome!

Point Reyes

My mom and dad are up visiting for the weekend so we all went to Point Reyes National Seashore for the day. It's only about an hour and a half from Berkeley, so it was the perfect day trip. The weather was much better than we had expected and we had a great day outside in the sun. So beautiful.

We saw gray whales migrating off the coast beyond the lighthouse, which was pretty cool... especially if you like squinting and/or momentary puffs of mist.

Weekend Getaway: Cambria

Because we knew we wouldn't be together on Thanksgiving or my birthday, my parents met Tom and me in Cambria, CA a couple of weekends ago. We had a lovely time together and were able to add some extra fun to the trip by stopping at Big Sur on the way down and Wahoo's on the way back up.

Beautiful Big Sur.
