I haven't laughed this hard in years.

Mr. Bonetangles

It's seriously the best street performance I've ever seen in my life.

Hello Cello

We got a whole new set of neighbors in our building all within the last month. Last night we got together for a dinner and they are really wonderful and fun. The most exciting part of all, perhaps, is that our new next door neighbor (with whom we share a wall) is an excellent cellist. I love the cello and listening to him through the walls, as I am now, is a delight.

Groovy

Do you know what you're looking at?
A researcher at the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester took these microscopic images of grooves in vinyl records. The black spots in the image directly above are dust!

I've got nobody to hug. I'm such an ugly bug.

Those worms at 1:09 kill me! I've never had that much fun dancing in my whole life... and I have two legs!

The Joy Formidable- Cradle

This music video is so cute and the song is so fantastically catchy that I'm seriously contemplating putting down the £10.50 to own my very own copy. I just want to dance around like a giddy school girl when I hear this, but I am sure my neighbors would appreciate if I refrained. I dare you to try to not tap your toes or sway around like a hipster buffoon when you listen to this gem!
It won't be easy-- prometo.

Treasure Island Music Festival

This weekend we went to the Treasure Island Music Festival. I had never been to Treasure Island before, but a quick google told me that it is an artificial island originally used as an airport and built from landfill that was dredged from the bottom of the Bay during the Great Depression. You can see it's absence on the 1915 map below. I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure... island.
Pat and Tom trying to figure out why The Decemberists sucked so much.
Courtney, thrilled about how good Grizzly Bear and Beirut were.

Tom, readying his mind for the Flaming Lips.

Puppy piling for warmth.

Flaming Lips, Flaming Lips, Flaming Lips.

Embryonic

In case you haven't heard the good news, until midnight on Monday you can stream the new Flaming Lips album on Colbert Nation. I'm getting more excited for Treasure Island by the minute.
